Botola Pro: FAR Rabat Win "Clasico" Against Wydad (2-1), Climb to Third Place
FAR Rabat secured a valuable victory over Wydad AC with two goals to one in their postponed match from the ninth round of the Botola Pro "Inwi" competition. This strong football summit delivered on all its promises of rivalry and excitement.
Both teams entered the confrontation with great determination to secure the three points. The opening minutes saw mutual pressure and rapid attacks from both sides.
In the 19th minute, FAR Rabat opened the scoring after Walid Sabbah mistakenly scored an own goal, giving the military team the lead. However, Wydad's response was not long in coming, as Hakim Ziyech managed to equalize in the 28th minute with a powerful shot, bringing the match back to square one and igniting the crowd's enthusiasm.
In the second half, both sides continued to search for a go-ahead goal amidst a significant tactical battle in midfield, before Youssef El Mehri succeeded in scoring the winning goal for FAR Rabat in the 62nd minute.
With this result, Wydad AC's points tally froze at 26 points, keeping them in second place. Meanwhile, FAR Rabat climbed to third place with 25 points, intensifying the struggle for the top positions in the league standings.
