Arbeloa on Utilizing Substitutes Including Díaz: "Changes Don't Mean Someone is Playing Poorly"
Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa was asked about the absence of a right-wing position in recent starting lineups and whether he considered deploying players like Brahim Díaz, Mastantuono, or Rodrygo in deeper roles behind the attacking line to find them a place in the official squad.
Arbeloa affirmed that every player finds a place in the team, explaining that it's not about a closed system. On the contrary, the diversity of players' abilities and characteristics provides the team with multiple options.
The coach stated that he makes sure to explain this to the players, saying: "Changes don't mean someone is playing poorly. 99% of the time, the reason is that you want something different, and other aspects and different circumstances that the incoming player can provide."
Arbeloa noted that the team has a large number of players, highlighting the return of Rodrygo, who represents a significant addition. He possesses the ability to play in multiple positions, offering a different performance in each role compared to what is currently available, emphasizing that these diverse player capabilities increase the options available to the team.
