FIFA Praises Wydad, Raja, and Other Clubs Amid Talent Development Support
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) visited several Moroccan clubs, including Wydad AC, Raja CA, Fath Union Sport (FUS), and Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RS Berkane), as part of its support for the football talent development program implemented by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The FRMF published a statement on its official website, announcing: "The national program for developing young football talents, overseen by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, has received significant appreciation from FIFA, which is considering adopting this model and implementing it in several African countries."
The statement continued: "As part of its international talent development program, FIFA conducted two visits to Morocco to closely examine this national project."
During these visits, FIFA toured several Moroccan clubs, including Wydad AC, Raja CA, Fath Union Sport, and RS Berkane, expressing great admiration for the level of work accomplished within these clubs, as confirmed by the aforementioned body in its statement.
The statement also indicated that FIFA will organize a conference in Morocco in April 2026 to contribute to the development and qualification of Moroccan coaches, based on its conviction regarding the effectiveness of the Moroccan model.
The statement concluded: "It should be noted that FIFA, which financially contributes to talent development programs across the African continent, will work in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to support some clubs involved in the national program, helping them to upgrade and modernize their infrastructure. This contribution is not transferred directly to the clubs but passes through the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, which is responsible for directing this support according to the needs of each club within the program."
Contrary to weakly sourced rumors, FIFA expressed its significant appreciation for the national program for developing young football talents, while studying the possibility of adopting and generalizing this model in several African countries, refuting some rumors that claimed FIFA's dissatisfaction with the project.
