Sergio Ramos Considers Future After Sevilla Rejects Return Citing "Incompatibility"
Reports indicate that Spanish defender Sergio Ramos is considering his future in professional football, weighing retirement against offers from European and Middle Eastern clubs. However, Sevilla's management rejected his preferred option of retiring with the club, citing "incompatibility" as the primary reason.
Sevilla president, Del Nido Carrasco, clarified that the rejection stemmed from Ramos's involvement in a business group attempting to purchase the club, which could create an incompatible situation. Carrasco stated: “Sergio offered to return, but the entity rejected the proposal,” adding: “A situation could arise where the owner is coached by other employees within the entity. I decided that was incompatible, and that is why Sergio is not playing for Sevilla.”
Ramos is currently evaluating offers from Spain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, prioritizing proximity to his family when making his decision about his next destination. The player, who will turn forty on March 30, is expected to make his decision soon as a free agent, as he feels physically fit to continue his career.
