Appeals Committee Upholds Seven-Match Ban for Sevilla Coach Matías Almeyda
The Appeals Committee has upheld the seven-match ban imposed on Sevilla's Argentine coach, Matías Almeyda, after rejecting the appeal filed by the club. This decision follows his dismissal in a previous match against Alavés, which was a result of accumulating four prior sanctions.
Almeyda is scheduled to begin serving his suspension in Sevilla's upcoming match against Getafe. Despite the legal services of Sevilla presenting arguments, the Appeals Committee did not accept any of them, thus maintaining the full penalty.
Sevilla had anticipated a potential reduction in the sanction; however, the committee affirmed the original decision of a seven-match suspension. Javi Martínez will take over Matías Almeyda's duties on the pitch during his period of suspension.
