Levante's Kervin Arriaga and Assistant Coach Suspended for Three Games
The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has announced a three-match suspension for Levante midfielder Kervin Arriaga. The ban was imposed due to an incident during a recent match against Villarreal. In the same vein, Levante assistant coach Vicente Iborra also received a three-match suspension. These penalties were announced last Wednesday.
The committee clarified that Arriaga's suspension stemmed from an action he committed in a previous encounter against Villarreal. Iborra's ban, on the other hand, included one match for the red card he received, in addition to two further matches for remaining in the changing room tunnel after his dismissal. Meanwhile, Levante coach Luis Castro expressed strong opposition to the penalty imposed on Kervin Arriaga, notably remaining silent for 14 seconds before responding to a question regarding the player's suspension.
In a statement, Castro affirmed his rejection of the penalty, saying: “I will not say anything else. For me, it is one match. Arriaga did something wrong, but he didn't kill anyone. The only one who couldn't play was Pablo Martinez. The only one who died in the match was Pablo Martinez. Referees must be respected, but he didn't kill anyone.”
