Mexico National Team Announces Final World Cup Friendlies
The Mexican national team has announced its final series of preparatory friendly matches ahead of the upcoming World Cup. These crucial fixtures include encounters against Ghana, Australia, and Serbia.
Mexico is scheduled to face Ghana on May 22. Another match against Australia will take place on May 30 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. On June 4, the team will play Serbia at home in Mexico, with the specific venue yet to be determined.
Ivar Sisniega, President of the Mexican Football Federation, stated, “These opponents are ideal to help prepare the national team for the World Cup.” The Mexican team is set to begin its World Cup campaign on June 11, facing South Africa at Estadio Azteca.
Prior to these final matches, Mexico hosted Iceland on February 25 in Querétaro and Portugal on March 28 in Mexico City. The match against Portugal marked the reopening of Estadio Azteca, which had been closed since May 2024.
