
Contract Renewals and Key Transfers in European Clubs
Italian club AC Milan has reached a full agreement with goalkeeper Mike Maignan to extend his contract until 2031. In related news, French club Lille has extended the contract of player Hákon Haraldsson until 2030, and Auxerre has extended Lassine Sinayoko's contract until 2027. On another note, coach Bruno Génésio requested to leave his coaching position at Lille after the team's loss in the Europa League, but club president Olivier Létang opposed this request.
Olympique Marseille officially announced the signing of player Quentin Timber until 2030, in addition to bringing in Ethan Nwaneri on a dry loan. Marseille described Nwaneri as "an attacking midfielder, a number 10 capable of playing on the wings, characterized by his quality ball control, vision for the game, and ability to dribble in tight spaces." Player Virgil van Dijk commented on Timber, saying, "He is a very good player, very strong. I think he will do well here."
In other transfer news, Mario Balotelli has joined Saudi club Al-Ettifaq. Tammy Abraham is close to moving to Aston Villa in a deal estimated at €21 million. English club Tottenham also signed 19-year-old player Souza from Brazilian club Santos. Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United as a free agent this summer.
