Carrick Comments on Casemiro's Manchester United Departure

Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has confirmed midfielder Casemiro's departure from the club at the end of the current season. The club had announced the player's exit in June next year, after he decided not to activate the option to extend his contract for an additional year.

Carrick explained, “I think the announcement regarding him was primarily to clarify things, because the decision had somehow been made before I arrived. So, it wasn’t a rushed decision; it’s a decision that reflects his character and personality.”

The manager added, “I think his performance last week (against Manchester City in the league) shows his mindset and how important it is for him to be here and finish the season well. I’ve already had this conversation with him, and he is determined to perform well and finish the season excellently, which is good to see, so I have no doubts about him.”

Carrick emphasized Casemiro’s determination to finish the season strongly.
