Ilias Akhomach Nearing Loan Move to Rayo Vallecano

Moroccan international Ilias Akhomach is reportedly close to joining Rayo Vallecano on loan from Villarreal during the current winter transfer window. This move aims to provide him with more playing time for the remainder of the season.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, known for his expertise in transfer news, confirmed that the player is currently undergoing medical examinations in preparation for finalizing his official transfer to Rayo Vallecano on a loan deal until the end of the current season.

Akhomach progressed through Barcelona's academy ranks before making three appearances for the Catalan club's first team. He then moved to Villarreal in the summer of 2023, seeking a new experience in the Spanish league.

The Moroccan international has played 66 matches for Villarreal across various competitions, scoring six goals and providing seven assists. He also participated with the Moroccan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
