Kobbie Mainoo Settles at Manchester United After Carrick's Trust
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to remain with the club following discussions with new manager Michael Carrick.
Mainoo had previously expressed frustration over limited first-team opportunities under former manager Ruben Amorim, who blocked his potential move to Napoli last summer.
Carrick demonstrated his confidence in the player by handing him his first start of the season in the Manchester derby, where Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-0 with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu.
Commenting on Mainoo's role, Carrick stated: "He is closer to a striker. I don't see him as a defensive midfielder. He is in the line where he needs more freedom... I see him playing a bit higher and creating chances. I think he has a big future. I really like him, he just needs patience and a bit of rest again."
This support and confidence from the new manager has solidified Mainoo's position in the squad, according to the Daily Mail.
