Napoli Provides Update on De Bruyne and Lukaku Returns
Dr. Raffaele Canonico, Napoli's team doctor, confirmed that 34-year-old midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is expected to return to action "in late February or early March." The player has been sidelined for over three months due to a right femoral biceps muscle injury, which he sustained in mid-October during a match against Inter Milan following a penalty kick.
In a related development, Napoli is also anticipating the full return of striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently training with the squad. His comeback is expected to be "very imminent." Lukaku delivered a standout performance last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists.
Napoli currently sits third in the Serie A standings for the 2025-2026 season with 43 points, six points adrift of leaders Inter Milan. The team is preparing for two crucial upcoming fixtures: facing Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday, followed by Juventus in Serie A on Saturday.
