Kobbie Mainoo Decides to Stay with Manchester United

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, 22, has decided to remain with his boyhood club.

Mainoo had previously considered pushing for a move away from the club this month, having struggled for playing time under former manager Ruben Amorim, who was recently dismissed from his position.

However, the immediate trust shown by interim manager Michael Carrick in his first match at the helm changed Mainoo's decision. Carrick started Mainoo for the full ninety minutes in Manchester United's two-nil victory over rivals Manchester City.

This direct confidence from Carrick significantly influenced the England international's decision to stay at Old Trafford, especially after he had sought a loan opportunity last summer.
