New Injuries Hit Napoli Ahead of Two Crucial Clashes
Italian club Napoli is facing increasing challenges due to a wave of injuries affecting its squad, just before two crucial matches in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. Two of their key players sustained injuries during their recent 1-0 victory over Sassuolo.
The club announced details of the players' injuries on Monday. Winger Matteo Politano is suffering from a "strain in the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh," while defender Amir Rrahmani sustained a "strain in his left gluteal muscles." The club confirmed that "both players have already begun their rehabilitation programs."
Both players are almost certainly expected to miss Tuesday's away Champions League match against Copenhagen, as well as Sunday's Serie A clash against Juventus. These new injuries add to the current list of absentees, which includes Frank Anguissa and Alex Meret.
This challenge comes at a critical time for Napoli, as the team sits third in Serie A, six points behind leaders Inter Milan, and is only one point clear of the elimination zone in the Champions League.
