Crystal Palace Manager Slams Board After Captain's Departure
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has launched a scathing attack on the club's board, accusing them of "abandoning" the team following the transfer of captain Marc Guéhi to Manchester City. Guéhi is scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Sunday.
Glasner, who has confirmed his departure at the end of the season, expressed deep frustration over the lack of support to replace departing players. He stated, "I feel like we have been completely left alone. I don't have many players. They are doing their best, but we have been in this situation for weeks and months. I only have 12 or 13 players available, and we feel like we are not getting any support."
The manager added, "The worst thing is selling our captain the day before a Premier League match. I cannot understand that." He continued, "I have kept quiet, but now I cannot; I have to defend these players."
Crystal Palace currently sit 13th in the Premier League. The team lost their last match 2-1 to Sunderland on Saturday, a game in which Guéhi was absent.
