Napoli Coach Antonio Conte Handed Two-Match Ban
Napoli coach Antonio Conte has been handed a two-match suspension by Serie A's disciplinary committee on Tuesday. The decision follows his dismissal during his team's 2-2 draw with league leaders Inter Milan.
Conte was sent off in the second half of the match "for insulting the match officials" after Inter were awarded a penalty. The Serie A disciplinary committee stated that "after his dismissal, the coach kicked a ball that was on the edge of the field and approached the fourth official in a threatening manner, repeating insulting remarks."
As a result of the ban, Conte will miss his team's postponed match against Parma on Wednesday, as well as their home fixture against Sassuolo on Saturday. Napoli currently sit third in the league standings with 39 points, four points behind Inter.
