Füllkrug Injury Worsens Milan's Attacking Crisis
AC Milan is facing an attacking crisis after new signing Niclas Füllkrug sustained a fractured toe. The injury occurred during his third appearance for the club, which was also his first start, in the 1-1 draw against Fiorentina.
Füllkrug joined Milan on loan from West Ham after striker Santi Giménez underwent ankle surgery in mid-December. Füllkrug is expected to miss Thursday's match against Como and likely the Lecce fixture, with a potential return on January 25 for the clash against Roma.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri has contended with numerous forward injuries this season, including Christian Pulisic's muscle injury in October and Rafael Leão's adductor issues. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku recently recovered from an ankle problem and featured in the match against Fiorentina.
Milan currently sits second in the Serie A standings, three points behind leaders Inter, following two consecutive 1-1 draws against Genoa and Fiorentina.
