Kalimuendo Joins Eintracht Frankfurt on Loan
Eintracht Frankfurt announced on Wednesday evening the official signing of 23-year-old French forward Arnaud Kalimuendo from English club Nottingham Forest on loan. The loan period extends until the end of the current season and includes a fee of €1.5 million, in addition to a permanent purchase option for the player at €30 million. Kalimuendo had arrived in Germany earlier on Wednesday and successfully passed his medical examination.
The German club stated in its official announcement: «The French striker joins Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Nottingham Forest. The Bundesliga club has a purchase option that can be activated at the end of the season. Frankfurt will be the second foreign club for the 1.75-meter tall forward.»
Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director, commented, saying: «He combines speed, deep runs, and a goal-scoring instinct with excellent defensive work. Most importantly, he integrates perfectly with our team, both in terms of his playing style and his personality.»
Nottingham Forest had reportedly paid €30 million to sign Kalimuendo last summer. The player scored 17 goals for French club Rennes last season but managed only two goals in 14 appearances across all competitions for Nottingham Forest.
