Serious Injury Ends Monaco Defender Mohammed Salisu's Season

French club AS Monaco announced on Monday evening that their 26-year-old Ghanaian defender, Mohammed Salisu, has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

The player sustained the serious injury last Saturday during his team's Ligue 1 Matchday 17 fixture against Olympique Lyonnais, which took place at the Stade Louis II and ended in a 3-1 defeat for Monaco.

As a result of this injury, Salisu, who previously played for English club Southampton, will be sidelined until the end of the current season. This season, the player had featured in 12 Ligue 1 matches, scoring one goal, in addition to one Coupe de France match and five Champions League appearances.

AS Monaco expressed their support for the player via the 'X' platform, stating: “The club will accompany Mohammed throughout his recovery and provide him with all the support. Be brave, Sali, we are with you.”
