Frimpong Praises Teammate Wirtz: "He is a Top-Class Player"

Liverpool right-back Jeremie Frimpong has praised teammate Florian Wirtz following their joint move to the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer transfer window.

Frimpong stated that Wirtz is "a top-class player," crediting him with Leverkusen's successes, including winning the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal, as well as reaching the UEFA Europa League final.

Frimpong emphasized that Wirtz remains focused on football, away from external pressures. He said, "Florian is the type of player who doesn't care about these things, or the value of the deal. He's just happy playing football." Frimpong believes Wirtz is unconcerned by the reported £116 million transfer fee.

Frimpong expressed his happiness at starting their Liverpool careers together, mirroring their beginnings at Leverkusen. He highlighted their close friendship, stating, "Florian and I are really close friends, he's my friend."
