Real Madrid announced on Monday the details of the injury sustained by their Brazilian defender Éder Militão, which occurred during their recent La Liga match against Celta Vigo.

The club's statement read: "Following tests carried out on our player Éder Militão by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the femoral biceps muscle in his left leg, with the proximal tendon affected. He will undergo further medical examination to monitor his condition."

Spanish media reports have confirmed that Militão's absence could extend to four months, meaning Real Madrid will be without his services for a significant period.
