"I Don't Understand How This Is Allowed to Happen" - Feyenoord Coach Unhappy Over Losing Three Players to AFCON
Feyenoord Rotterdam coach Robin van Persie has expressed his dissatisfaction over his team being forced to release three players starting December 15 for participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The players expected to be absent from the club are Oussama Targhalline (Morocco), Anis Hadj Moussa (Algeria), and Gaoussou Diarra (Mali).
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Van Persie stated, "On one hand, it's positive that their absence will begin on December 15, which is after the Klassieker match against Ajax on the 14th of the same month. However, on the other hand, it remains strange that we will play our last two matches before the winter break without three key players."
The Dutch coach concluded, "But other teams are suffering from the same problem, and in the bigger picture, I absolutely do not understand how this is allowed to happen. In this context, we are fortunate that we will only lose them for two matches, as it could have been three."
