CAF Introduces New Rules for Africa Cup, Including 10-Day Squad Submission Deadline

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has introduced a new set of regulations in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament, scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Morocco between December 21st and January 18th.

According to reliable sources, national teams are required to submit their final player lists 10 days before the tournament kicks off. A fine of $10,000 will be imposed on any team that fails to meet this deadline.

Final squad lists will comprise only 18 players per national team. These players are permitted to travel between host cities for matches by plane, road, or train.

Teams traveling from Rabat to Casablanca will depart on the morning of their match day. However, teams heading to other cities must travel one day prior to their game.

National teams scheduled to travel between cities during the group stage include Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Botswana, DR Congo, Benin, Mozambique, Cameroon, Gabon, Comoros, Mali, Zambia, Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.

Furthermore, full training sessions are not permitted at the match stadium on the day before a game. However, teams may visit the stadium for familiarization purposes only, between 14:00 and 21:00, provided they obtain CAF approval.
