Guirassy's Brother Calls CAF Awards Snub a "Scandal"
Serhou Guirassy's brother and agent, Karamba Guirassy, has voiced his frustration after the Guinean international was omitted from the final shortlist for the CAF African Player of the Year award. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to present the award next Wednesday at a ceremony in Rabat, Morocco.
Guirassy's brother described the omission as a "scandal," especially as the shortlist has been narrowed down to three players: Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, a Champions League winner with Paris Saint-Germain; Mohamed Salah of Liverpool; and Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray.
Karamba posted a "story" on his official Instagram account, stating: "It's a scandal that he (Guirassy) is not in the top 3. Guirassy is the top scorer in the Champions League, the top scorer in the Club World Cup, the best African scorer during 2025, ranked 21st in the Ballon d'Or award, nominated among the best strikers in FIFA, and the second-best scorer in the German league."
