Senegal Coach: "We Weren't Allowed to Train at the Match Venue While Brazil Was"
Pape Thiaw, the head coach of the Senegal national team, criticized the organizing committee of Saturday evening's friendly match against Brazil, which took place at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
Following the match, Thiaw stated: "Traffic congestion in the city (London) and the distance of our hotel made our preparations for the match difficult. There is also a point that needs to be emphasized: I believe the organizers did not respect us. We were told that neither team would be allowed to train at the match venue on the eve of the encounter, but the Brazilian team did train there."
He added: "This is not an excuse for the defeat, but it is indeed a lack of respect towards us. It was very important for us, and I made sure to point it out."
It is worth noting that the Senegalese national team lost 2-0 to Brazil. They are scheduled to play their second friendly match against Kenya next Tuesday, as part of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
