Achraf Hakimi Races Against Time for Africa Cup, Begins Rehabilitation
Achraf Hakimi sustained a severe ankle sprain last week following a strong challenge from Luis Diaz during Paris Saint-Germain's UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Hakimi is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks. He opted against surgery, hoping to recover in time for the Africa Cup of Nations, which Morocco will host from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Hakimi has shown strong determination to achieve his goal of participating in the continental tournament, which he eagerly anticipates. He has not hidden his desire to recover as quickly as possible, recently posting photos on his official Instagram account showing him already training in the gym.
His current training regimen includes cycling, muscle-strengthening exercises, and physical therapy sessions. The 27-year-old is undergoing these activities while wearing a brace on his left ankle, emphasizing his strong commitment to not wasting any time.
