Friendly Match Ends Ghanaian Francis Abu's Dream: Player Suffers Serious Fracture, Misses World Cup!
A friendly match has shattered the dream of Ghanaian player Francis Abu, following a serious injury he sustained yesterday in a match between Ghana and Japan, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Japan.
His club, French side Toulouse, announced that the player is suffering from double fractures in his leg, including a fracture to the tibia and another to the fibula, and will be sidelined for several months.
French press reports indicated that the player will undergo surgery, which will consequently rule him out of the upcoming World Cup next summer. It is also noted that the Ghanaian national team failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".
Abu, 24, started the match, and while attempting to block a shot from player Ao Tanaka, the latter struck the Ghanaian's leg, causing the serious fracture.
