Al-Zabiri: 'Argentina Underestimated Us, But We Showed Them Who Morocco Is'

Yassir Al-Zabiri, a player for the Moroccan U20 national team, gave an interview to Qatar's beIN Sports channel, revealing behind-the-scenes details of the "Lion Cubs'" triumph in the Youth World Cup. He confirmed that many teams, including Argentina, had underestimated the capabilities of coach Mohamed Wahbi's squad, but the response came strongly on the pitch.

Al-Zabiri stated: "All the teams we faced were talking before every match, and they greatly underestimated us. They didn't realize how tough Morocco truly is."

He added: "We watched videos of the Argentine national team, and we entered the match determined to show them who Morocco and its people are. We, the players, decided to remain silent and focus solely on the game, to deliver our response on the field."

Al-Zabiri concluded: "We are well-mannered. Even after defeating Argentina, we didn't engage in excessive talk. We went to celebrate with our fans and paid no mind to them. Our focus was on the Moroccan flag we proudly carried and the people who endured the hardship of travel to support us."
