Coach Dies After Sudden Heart Attack During Serbian League Match
Coach Mladen Zizovic passed away yesterday, Monday, after suffering a sudden heart attack during his team Radnicki 1923's match against Mladost in the Serbian SuperLiga.
Zizovic, 44, collapsed on the bench in the 22nd minute of the game, with his team leading 2-0. Ambulance crews quickly provided medical care and attempted to resuscitate him before he was transported to the hospital, but he died during transit.
The match was briefly resumed before being permanently suspended upon the announcement of the shocking news.
Zizovic, a former Bosnian international player, had taken charge of the club on October 23, weeks after leaving his role with Bosnian club Borac Banja Luka last summer following their elimination from the preliminary round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Yesterday's match was only Mladen Zizovic's third in charge of Radnicki 1923.
