
Angers' Yassine Belkhadim: 'Playing for Morocco Was My Dream Since Childhood'
Moroccan player Yassine Belkhadim, who plays for French club Angers, affirmed that the dream of wearing the "Atlas Lions" jersey has been with him since childhood, expressing his strong desire to achieve this goal in the future.
In an interview with French website Flashscore, Belkhadim stated that he had previously been called up twice for the U23 national team. He added, "Playing for Morocco has always been a dream of mine since I was young, and I need to continue working hard to earn another opportunity with the national team."
The 24-year-old forward continued by discussing the development of Moroccan football, highlighting that what has been achieved in recent years in terms of infrastructure and training is "astonishing," as he put it.
Belkhadim added, "We see a large number of Moroccan players excelling in top European clubs, and academy graduates, such as those from the Mohammed VI Football Academy, show great commitment and clear development."
He concluded his statement by emphasizing that the development of African football, especially Moroccan football, makes young players more ambitious and eager to wear the national team jersey and contribute to its successes.
