Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco Clarifies Stance on Sevilla Sale
Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco, president of Spanish club Sevilla, has clarified the current situation regarding reports about the potential sale of the club. He stated that he is monitoring developments in his capacity as president, despite not being directly involved in the negotiation process.
In this regard, the club's accounts and financial situation are currently undergoing a thorough analysis, according to Carrasco. He affirmed that the final decision on any potential deal rests exclusively with the buying and selling parties.
Speaking about the latest developments on this matter, the president of the Andalusian club stressed that he cannot predict the future outcomes of this process. Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco stated: "I have no involvement in that sale process. However, I am aware of what is happening as president of Sevilla FC. I do not know, nor do I have the ability to see the future. I know that the club's situation or its accounts are under analysis, but this process will ultimately be between the buyers and sellers." This statement comes at a time when Del Nido Carrasco holds a limited number of shares, estimated at only about 300, within the club.
Sevilla FC is currently undergoing a transitional phase, both athletically and administratively. The recent period saw the appointment of Luis Garcia Plaza as the new coach to lead the team in the remaining 9 matches of the season, in an attempt to improve the team's standing, as they are currently only three points clear of the relegation zone in La Liga.
In the transfer market, recent moves reflect efforts to balance the financial books. The club generated revenues approaching 70 million euros from the sale of the duo Dodi and Loïc Badé, while bringing in 8 new players for a total of 250,000 euros. This comes amid a period of technical instability that has seen nine coaches manage the team over the past three and a half years.
