Barcelona Plans to Open 14,000 Additional Seats at Camp Nou
Barcelona Football Club has announced plans to open 14,000 additional seats on the first and second tiers of the Camp Nou stadium before the end of the season. These new seats will be exclusively reserved for club members.
The club is currently awaiting approval from the Barcelona City Council for “Phase 1C” of the stadium's reopening, which involves opening the fourth side of Camp Nou. In a statement, Barcelona expressed its hope to obtain this license by early March.
One of the main obstacles preventing the “1C” license approval is the installation of gates that open onto the street. It is estimated that the inability to open the “Gol Nord” stand costs the club one million euros per match in lost opportunities. Meanwhile, a partial season ticket for members in the new section will be offered, costing between 160 and 240 euros.
