Real Madrid Changes Hotel and Kit in Lisbon Due to Superstitious Reasons
Real Madrid has made superstitious changes to its preparations for an anticipated playoff match in Lisbon, encompassing both the team's accommodation hotel and its official match kit. This decision follows a previous 4-2 defeat to Benfica in Lisbon, which led to Real Madrid's current situation requiring a playoff.
The Royal Club decided to move from the Lisbon Marriott Hotel to the Corinthia Hotel, a step aimed at changing the team's fortunes. In the same vein, Real Madrid will use its away kit instead of the electric blue third kit worn in the previous match where they suffered defeat.
These changes are attributed to superstitious beliefs after the aforementioned defeat against Benfica, which saw Real Madrid drop out of the top eight positions in the league phase, forcing them into this playoff match. That game also saw the expulsion of players Rodrygo and Raúl Asensio, and Benfica's goalkeeper, Trubin, scored a goal in the 98th minute, adding to the bitterness of the defeat.
In connection with this playoff match, Real Madrid will be without Jude Bellingham and Éder Militão due to injury, adding an extra challenge for the team as it seeks a positive result.
